This copy contains a signed inscription and large original drawing by Erik Hesselberg on the front end page. Hesselberg was the only trained sailor aboard the famous 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition (a journey by raft across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian Islands) led by the Norwegian explorer and writer, Thor Heyerdahl, who later directed a film based upon the journey which won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1951. In very good condition. Moderate edge wear/tear/rubbing to the covers.
