17th / 18th Century Italian Polychrome Wood Box / Casket
This is an early & unusual painted wood box, dating to the 17th / 18th century, Italian.
The lid lifts to reveal a decorated underside with a central beehive & flowers & a fitted tray with 7 divisions, this tray lifts to reveal a futher central tray with 2 divisions, this removes to reveal 2 hidden drawers either side in the base. The box stands on compressed bun feet.
CONDITION with overall wear to the paintwork, some cracks to the wood as per images
The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
