You mount your telescope on an altazimuth mount or a regular camera tripod, you find it difficult to get the target object to the centre of the frame when tracking it or observing it at high magnification (>100x), which seriously affects the astronomical observation, so using an equatorial mount tripod is very necessary!

Our equatorial mounts and tripods use EQ4 grade equatorials. Compared with the traditional EQ3 equatorial mounts, the EQ4 equatorials are more solid and equipped with a built-in polar axis scope which is not available in the EQ3, and the polar axis scope makes it easier to align the Polaris.

Furthermore, the Equator is equipped with two 2.95kg weighting hammers (the EQ3 has only one) to support telescope payloads of up to 20lbs, making it ideal for small to medium sized reflector, refractor or Cassegrain telescopes.

The equatorial instrument has a Vixen-type dovetail saddle for quick attachment and removal of optical tubes equipped with Vixen-style dovetail mounting bars.

Slow-motion knobs on both axes allow objects to be centred in the telescope's field of view and their movements manually tracked.
