Vintage Rare King Vox Ampliphonic Octavoice III for Woodwinds. Alto Sax.
The Vox Ampliphonic series debuted in 1967. This is the III series so I believe it was bought it in the 70's, not 100% sure on that though.
It comes with a King Alto Sax Mouthpiece built for the pickup. The pickup fits into a hole that is drilled into the mouthpiece. This also comes with an extra pickup hole plug. This is for if you wanted to take the pickup off the mouthpiece and still use the mouthpiece to play your sax. Truthfully, I would just use a different mouthpiece to play sax alone, and leave the pickup always mounted in this mouthpiece. This mouthpiece has been cleaned and sanitized.

On the Octavoice unit itself, you can run the sax by itself, or make it sound like an English Horn, a Bassoon, or a Contra Bassoon. Or, you can do a variation of those sounds. When I first tested this to make sure all the channels worked, the English Horn sound worked intermittently. So, I sprayed some corrosion-x onto all the channels, but then I couldn't get the English Horn channel to work at all. The Bassoon and Contra Bassoon channels run perfectly. And to be honest, those are the two coolest sounds this unit does anyways. I would think the English Horn channel will work; it just needs someone more knowledgeable than myself to get it working again. I have a video of the unit working that I can send you if you ask for it (eBay's new update won't let the video load into the listing). The sound quality of the video isn't great through a cell phone mic and having the sax bell right next to the cell phone. When the sax is away, and you can hear it through the amp more, the bass sounds a lot better.

Has a belt clip as one way to carry it around on you.
Comes with a nice original "King Ampliphonics" carrying case for everything needed.
It will need a 9V battery. Battery not included.
There is an extra cable in the case that has a 3.5mm female end to a 1/4" mono male end. The unit was my Granddaddy's, he used to use this extra cable when recording on this unit, so I'm just throwing it in.
This unit is in really good condition (despite the English Horn channel not working properly). My Granddaddy always bought nice musical gear and then hardly used them.
