This is a rare, I can find no others, piece of George Washington memorabilia. It is a brass spoon with enameling in the bowl and the bust of George Washington on the twisted handle. The design resembles both French champleve and Russian enameling. Experts at the Mount Vernon Historical Society have never seen one. Souvenirs with George Washington have been popular since at least the Centennial in 1876 including 1886 when France gifted the statue of Liberty, 1889 for the anniversary of Washington's inauguration, 1926 for the Sesquicentennial and 1932 for the Bicentennial of Washington's birth. If an expert in Washingtonia can otherwise pinpoint the age and origin of this spoon please message me.
Significant flaws not depicted in the photos are described here-with, minor flaws and normal wear are not. Unless the item is described as new, assume there will be minor flaws or wear commensurate with a used item of given age.
