Khanda Necklace - Khanda Pendant - Gold symbol on black matte Art Glass - with 20" gold filled chain

matte black art art glass  - Silkscreened "Khanda symbol" in  gold

About 5/8" - gold plated bail

Comes in a drawstrings pouches. 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" made out of antique silk saree borders [colors and pattern will vary]

Gold-filled jewelry has 100x more gold alloy than gold plated and because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better than gold plated. All it would take is one small scratch on a gold-plated piece to expose the jeweler's brass underneath.

Other colors glass available upon request.

The Khanda depicts the Sikh doctrine Deg Tegh Fateh in emblematic form. It is the military emblem of the Sikhs. It is also part of the design of the Nishan Sahib. A double edged khanda (sword) is placed at the top of a Nishan Sahib flag as an ornament or finial. The Khanda emblem is an amalgam of three symbols, represented by three different items.
A double-edged khanda (sword) in the centre
A chakkar (chakram)
Two single-edged swords, or kirpan, crossed at the bottom and sit on either side of the khanda and chakkar. They represent the dual characteristics of Miri-Piri, indicating the integration of both spiritual and temporal sovereignty together and not treating them as two separate and distinct entities.
