Elegant and timeless antique Late Victorian/Edwardian tea dress in excellent vintage condition. Intricate and varying lace motifs decorate this gown including a delicate floral motif around the neckline, large circular flowers on the bodice and skirt, and a delicate lace with a vine/leaf detail used on the sleeves and front of the bodice. A pleating detail adds visual interest to the front of the bodice, and eyelet cut-outs accent the lace of the skirt.
This cotton garment has been thoroughly cleaned and only has a few small damages - very small stains on the shoulders and neckline (see blue dots on pics). It also has a repair to the vine/leaf lace used on the waistline. None of these are noticeable from 5 feet away. The fabric is sturdy and does not suffer from dry-rot.
The closures down the back include the original buttons as well as hooks and eyes that were added at some other time. Any rusted or broken hooks and eyes have been replaced with matching new ones.
With a slip-dress underneath (not included), this one-of-a-kind gown would make for a stunning wedding dress!!
