Rocky Point Park was an amusement park on the Narragansett Bay shore of Warwick, Rhode Island.  It operated from the late 1840s until it closed in 1995.  The park was conceived by Captain William Winslow in the 1840s.  By 1847, he had purchased a part of land and began to offer amusements and serve dinner. 

   Throughout its years of being open, it was one of the most popular attractions in Rhode Island. It featured rides such as the Skyliner, Corkscrew Loop Roller Coaster, Log Flume, and the Freefall, which fell 13 stories at 55 mph.  It also featured the Shore Dinner Hall, famous for its clamcakes, steamers, lobsters, and “Rhode Island” style clam chowder.  In addition to its amusement rides, Rocky Point also occasionally hosted in its Palladium Ballroom.  Rocky Point was cleared in 2011 and once again opened to the public as a park with a mile long walking path along the shore of Narraganset Bay.  

   The old “Dock at Rocky Point R.I.” is on this card that was published by “Blanchard, Young & Company”.  The card is an UDB, postmarked 1906 in Providence R.I. and is in good condition with a missing lower right corner and minor wear overall.  The image is clean and clear and is highlighted with copper paint, if you hold it to the light at an angle.  The image is of a steamer loading at the dock. The reverse is neatly addressed and clean.

Fair - Piece is intact, excess soil, staining and creases
Good - Corners may be noticeably rounded with slight bends or creases.
Very Good - Corners may be blunted or rounded. 
Excellent - Like near mint in appearance but may have been used postally.
