Gorgeous Original Vintage MTG ARTWORK by ERIC PETERSON

The earliest Vintage MTG FOIL cards are becoming extremely difficult to come by in HIGH GRADE UNPLAYED CONDITION and Professional Graded Mint or above are even harder to find !

More information about Foil cards & 7th Edition Foils below…

SEVENTH EDITION FOIL CARD Information:

The 7th Edition was the FIRST CORE SET to feature FOIL CARDS in Magic The Gathering… Up until that point foil cards were only available through booster packs or special promo cards…

Historically Magic The Gathering CORE SETS are very UNDER PRODUCED/PRINTED compared to expansion sets ( since they are in essence reprint sets ) … In addition the 7th Edition’s FOIL CARDS are in BLACK BORDER ONLY as opposed to the basic non foil white border core set cards …

Combining this with the CLASSIC OLD MTG FRAME and NEW ARTWORK with a LOW PRINT RUN makes them highly desirable and valuable in all instances !

For many collectors and players alike 7th EDITION FOILS are considered the HOLY GRAIL in MTG FOIL CARD COLLECTABLES … and are considered to be some of the RAREST FOIL CARDS in MTG outside of foils from the earliest Booster packs or promotional cards !

Because of all these factors 7th EDITION FOIL CARDS sell at a CONSIDERABLE PREMIUM to non foils !!

FOIL CARD INFORMATION - With the Release of URZA’S LEGACY in 1999 Wizards Of The Coast introduced Foil Cards to MTG players and collectors alike through Booster Packs…

The Foil cards appeared one every few packs (taking the place of another card) with RARE FOILS appearing one per booster box.

FOIL CARD dispersion rate estimates per Wizards of the Coast:

Common Foils - 1 per every 30 - 45 MTG cards

Uncommon Foils - 1 per every 120 - 160 MTG cards

Rare Foils - 1 per every 450 - 600 MTG cards

Due to the nature of EARLY FOIL CARD production with a Metallic coating applied over card stock FOIL CARDS are notoriously difficult to find in HIGH GRADE UNPLAYED CONDITION and even tougher to survive the rigorous PROFESSIONAL GRADING service companies protocol on card grading.
