Wedding purses were a tradition for brides in the Victorian Era. They were made of light fabrics and handkerchiefs were tucked into them to wipe away tears of joy...or sadness! This sweet purse is made of silk satin, that is sadly shattering, silk mesh, a silk ribbon that is disintegrating and a silk tassel. It needs to be handled with care and would look fabulous in a bridal display. It comes in it's original paper trim box (just the bottom, sadly) and a white handkerchief was found in the purse. The handkerchief is in need of some TLC to re-attach some of the lace trim. I have loved this set for so long as it is truly a rare find! Please see all photos for condition and flaws.

Measurements:
5.5" x 5.5" x 4.5" Box
4" tall purse
16 3/4" circumference purse
9.5" x 10.5" handkerchief

Listing is for bridal purse, box bottom and handkerchief, not the lace table runner

Hello there! I thought I would share a little bit about who you are buying this item from. My name is Gina and for the past 40 years, I have been an avid collector of antiques. At one point in time, my dream was to have a fabulous fashion museum that housed clothing, underwear, shoes, accessories and various items from the 1830s to the 1930s. Well, over time, that dream became a very unhealthy obsession so I am selling the vast majority of my museum off. My obedience to God is your gain! For most of last year I sold quite a bit of the museum on my Instagram page @thehouseofwhyte and that was fun, but a little too regimented for me and caused quite a bit of stress and anxiety. I am hoping that eBay is a better place to offer my items to new homes! I also sell newly crafted items on Etsy at theHOWboutique, if you would like to check out my integrity as a seller there!

Happy Shopping,

Gina
