CONDITION DESCRIPTION: This STUNNING, 1968 Corgi, Ford Competition Mustang Fastback 2+2, Model #325, with RARE, GOLD & SILVER WHEELS, is in NEAR MINT CONDITION. The beautiful cream, white paint shows only a few small knicks/scratches on the rear trunk edge and driver’s door. The red stripes on the roof have some light scratches/rubs through them. The windows are nice and clear except for some light scratches on the windshield. *Note: There is a stress fracture on the bottom edge of the rear window, see closeup picture. The chrome bumpers have only slight chrome loss. The jeweled headlights still sparkle nice and bright. The light blue interior is lightly faded on the back shelf. The gold & silver wheels are nice & clean without any corrosion. The original tires all LOOK VERY NICE and do not show any cracking or flat spots. Both suspensions still feel nice and firm. The baseplate looks new with only a couple small knicks. **The included, original box is in fair condition, one corner is damaged, but all flaps are present, and colors are still bright.

Just for Gee-Whiz: This 1968 Corgi, Ford Competition Mustang Fastback 2+2, Model #325 is a direct spin-off of the conservative and somewhat boring, #320 model that was painted in blue, green, silver and lilac and had a dog on the back shelf. This competition body style was created to boost the ailing sales of the model by giving it a more exciting and sportier look with numbers and red racing stripes. The first version of this model came out with narrow wheels and tires but unfortunately, it still didn’t impress the young buyers, so they widened the wheels and tires to give it a tougher look. For some reason Corgi didn’t feel it necessary to modify the body and widen the rear wheel wells, (THAT IS WHY THE REAR WHEELS LOOK OFF CENTER). Corgi tried one more time to boost sales and created the Pop Art, Flower Power model, #348 and gave it a bold & hippy vibe to attract new buyers but it also had little success. This body style crept along until 1970 at which time Corgi scrapped it all together.
