About the author: [ Erna Lendvai-Dircksen was born in 1883. She first studied painting, and in 1910 took up photography.
In 1911 she began her magnum opus, a photographic study of the peasants of all the German regions,
which she continued until the Second World War.
In 1933 she receives acclaim as the photographer of "the True Face of Germany" ,
as opposed to the work of August Sander. In 1943 her archives are destroyed in an air raid.
This volume is part of her extended document of the German peoples.]

Hardcover 76 pages 70 awesome full page black and white photos	In very good exterior and near fine interior condition. Minor wear to boards and spine, mild foxing to fore edge and endpapers, else ok. Photo pages are very clean and bright. All pages are complete and tight in the binding. Approx/Measurements: 10-1/4" x 7-1/2" ~1 lbs.
