The American Gold Buffalo Coin Series
The 1 oz Gold Buffalo is the first .9999 fine gold bullion coin minted by the U.S. Mint. Designed to strict U.S. Mint specifications, these coins experience great global esteem. They have been created every year starting in 2006, after the passing of the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005. Title II of this act commenced the striking and issuing for sale gold bullion coins made of 99.99% pure gold with the design of the original Buffalo Nickel. They were given a denomination of $50.

The American Gold Buffalo Coin Design
Pulling inspiration from James Earle Fraser's legendary Buffalo Nickel, the Gold Buffalo coin displays a Native American profile on the front and a buffalo on the back side modeled after Black Diamond, a buffalo that lived in Central Park Zoo at the turn of the century. This specific coin resurrects an amazing concept with sophisticated aspects, offering collectors a combination of aesthetic and economic value.

James Earle Fraser
James Earle Fraser originally created the design used on the Gold American Buffalo in 1912. After multiple delays, it was finally used for the nickel starting in 1913 and was struck until it was discontinued in 1938. While the design of the Indian Head and Buffalo are beautiful testaments to his talent, James Earle Fraser is also known for many other designs and monuments. This includes the World War I victory medal, the Navy Cross, and the famous End of the Trail sculpture, which depicts an exhausted Native American man hunched over on his tired horse. He is also credited with designing many sculptures in Washington, D.C., and a Benjamin Franklin National Memorial in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Precious Metal IRA
For products to qualify for a Precious Metals IRA, they must meet minimum fineness requirements that are set by the IRS. These 1 oz American Gold Buffalo coins are eligible for Precious Metals IRAs because they meet the .999 fineness requirement.
