This 12-string fretted rebec with 4 bowing strings and 8 sympathetic strings , is made in France. It is a rare gem for vintage string instrument enthusiasts. It comes with a protective case for safekeeping and an internal piezo mic for easy amplification. The instrument has been well-maintained and is in great working order- i bought it from luthier Philllipe Berne about 2 years ago and the instrument has been kept in one room and never left the house.
The sound produced by the rebec is unmatched and will add a unique touch to any musical production. Its vintage aesthetic will also make it a stunning addition to any collection.
It doesn't come with a bow (as i feel this is a personal choice) - it is in cgda tuning like a cello or tenor guitar.

It has the same dimensions as a violin /viola.
