Description

A Good Quality Edwardian Sheraton Revival Mahogany Portable Desk Top Stationary Cabinet, the Exterior with Inlaid Oval Fan Motifs on the top and to the front, and Bone line Inlays also to the top and front.

The Cabinet opens up to display several rows of shaped divisions which lean forward to easily access papers etc. Inside the lid there is a working Calendar which can be adjusted by turning the metal rods on the top. This occupies the space behind the divisions when the Cabinet is closed.

There is a drawer to the front which when opened reveals a Removable Pen Slope and a space for an Inkwell.

The Cabinet has Carrying Handles on the sides and there is a Key which operates the Working Lock.

Circa 1900.

Measurements

 Width. 32 Cm. (12.5"). Height. 21 Cm. (8.25"). Depth. 22 cm. ( 8.75" ).

Condition

Age related Wear. Originally there was a locking mechanism which locked the drawer when the Cabinet closed. I still have all the parts (See last Picture) but the Metal piece has become unattached from the metal on the back of the drawer. This could be reinstated with a bit of soldering.
