Description

An Antique 19th century Mahogany Writing Slope or Campaign Lap Desk, of finest Quality and Fabulous Colour, the Exterior with inset Brass mounts with Brass Screws on all sides.

The Desk opens up to display a Felt covered Writing surface with a section for Writing Materials above. This section has two Moulded Glass Inkwells with screw tops seated on velvet coasters either side of a Pen tray.

On one side below the Slope there is a Compartment for Papers Etc.

The brass hinges Stamped F. Sage. London.

On the borders of the writing surface there are Inlaid Metal pins to add to the Decoration. Also some on the exterior of the Desk.

 Width. 30 Cm. (12"). Height. 9 Cm. (3.5"). Depth. 26 Cm. ( 10.25". ).

Condition

Age related wear. The Interior Felt worn and slightly damaged in the centre. Split on the base.  No Key.
