A matched Pair of Barely Used,

MK2 Castle Warwick Speakers, with matching factory stands.

I purchased these new, and 2 weeks later had the chance to buy a pair of ex demonstration Kef Reference Fours.

Since then the speakers have lain dormant in the spare room.

In exceptional condition, and sounding very lovely, I have decided to let them go as part of down sizing.

This Era of Castle Speakers, is when Castle were still fitting the incredibly detailed Tweeters.

I cannot remember the name of this type of tweeter, but are considered to be the pinnacle of tweeter design.. sadly they were also very expensive to manufacture and fragile if misused.

As a consequence Castle fitted a protection circuit to prevent damage.

The same design Tweeters were also used by Bang & Olufsen in the late 70s and 80s.

This design of tweeter suits classic and jazz very well.. Harpsichord and Pianoforte sound sublime.

The speakers are pick up only..

The new owner can hear them in all their glory, connected to an Arcam Delta 290 amp, Alpha 6 CD or Thorens Turntable with Audio Technica moving coil cartridge.
