Original and genuine (not a repro or copy) Land Rover Series 1, official, workshop manual, petrol & diesel models.

Purchased new, by me, in 1971 after I’d acquired one of the first Series 1’s that left the production line (1600cc L14, 1948 – 1951), model (with spade-shaped seat-backs). Spent my (glorious) summer of 1971 (when a 20-21 year old) ‘batting-about’, with the canvas (& hoops) and doors removed – and screen folded flat onto the bonnet (what a local reputation for automotive ‘daring do’ I created – happy days). But autumn arrived – with chills, so my Landy had to go, which it did.... but I had to ‘give it away’, how the times have changed - and how I wish I'd had a 'crystal ball'!

Anyway, to the manual: It was only ever carefully clean-hands perused - out of curious interest, so never actually used in earnest, and has been on my book-shelf since 1971 (viewed in rare moments of nostalgia – and, over recent years, with regret). Consequently the manual is in very good condition/order: No missing, torn/repaired/creased or dog-eared pages. No greasy/oily/dirty or blemished/hand prints, etc. The woven-cotton tape spine has age degraded a little and slightly parted (over about 3cm) at the cover crease ends. Otherwise the manual is in extremely good condition and order – as the randomly taken pics show.

Note that the manual doesn’t lie flat when open, because it’s never been opened and forced flat, as said, “never used in earnest”. The manual is considered about as good as it can get for a pre-owned example dating from 1971. What’s it worth? I’ve pitched the BIN at what I think is not just fair, but a bargain; especially when it would (imo) substantially enhance the value of an otherwise ‘manual devoid’ Landy by a margin significantly greater than the BIN. However, that's all imo. So, make a fair and reasonable offer and it will be fairly and reasonably considered.

Should any Land Rover ever be sold/purchased for ‘top money’ without its proper, official, OEM Workshop manual?

Prefer UK sale only. Collection is acceptable, from Walsall (WS2), or freely delivered to an address close to WS2. I may consider delivering elsewhere at an agreed cost/price.
