The railroad signal box contains the electronics and back-up batteries to control the crossing signals and arms/gates. This model is based on a design located on the CSX Abbeville Subdivision in South Carolina and Georgia but this style may be found all over the country. The back-up batteries in this style are housed in a separate battery box. Located near the signal box, the battery boxes were typically constructed of concrete with a metal cover. This set is a 6 pack and does not contain any actual electronics.
