This book of children's favorite stories is a rare find. The full title is, " Children's Favorite Stories  Retold for the Little Ones". The date of 1926 is inside the book, but it also indicates copyright 1918.

This book is in pretty tough shape. I don't want to pull any punches here. But I could not bear to throw it away. It really is a unique and rare item, again , and the illustrations are beautiful. Black and white. The binding is loose, and some pages are missing or torn. I could not show every page, of course, but please see photos for an idea of what I'm referring to. For example, it does appear that the first 14 pages are missing. Many of the pages are also somewhat stained and have been handled by lots of little unwashed hands over the years.:-):-)

This is from a country school in rural North Dakota, long ago closed.

Dimensions of the book are 5 1/2 in by 7 in by about a half inch.
