Papa Dan and his granddaughters, Alba and Ivy, spend the day doing their favorite things, starting with a ride in the wheelbarrow (along with Bazil the Dog) to Papa Dan's fairylike garden. As a storm blows in and baking ensues, Papa Dan saves the day when the smoke detector shrills. Exhausted, Papa Dan decides to take a nap, but this does not keep the girls from having even more fun. This book is a blend of real life and fiction, honoring Dan Stoecklein (a.k.a. Papa Dan).
