Holland-Afrika Lijn: A silverplated stamped portrait ashtray of the JAGERSFONTEIN, the third of Holland-Afrika's three sister combo-liners from 1939-1940.
The ship was launched in 1940 but not completed due to war. In 1947 the battered hulk was raised and towed to a shipyard where she emerged in 1950 as the lovely JAGERSFONTEIN.
The stamped portrait shows her with a bone in her teeth. "M.S. JAGERSFONTEIN" is written in the lower left corner. The border is an elaborate foliage pattern. 3" by 4.5".
