Very rare large serving platter from the popular Duncan & Miller "Canterbury" line. This clover-shaped piece could be the "Dawn" color from the bridge years of the 1950s, or from a bit later when Tiffin subsumed Duncan and changed the name to "Twilight." In either case this is most definitely alexandrite glass, with its characteristic color change from lavender in incandescent light to icy blue in fluorescent light. I tried to best display the color with different backgrounds behind it. Most of my photos were taken in normal sunlight and the last photo was taken under a fluorescent indoor bulb to show the blue color (sorry, the only ones in my house are in the basement!).

I believe this is considered the 14" platter but actually it is 15" across. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and just a few small utensil scratches. This is a gorgeous piece of thick, high quality Duncan/ Tiffin glass in its most popular color!

If you collect alexandrite glass from the elegant glass era, then you will definitely want to add this to your collection. Please see my other current and upcoming listings for more Twilight pieces from the outstanding collection of Duncan & Miller/ Tiffin that I purchased from a fine collector's estate auction!

Please note: this piece is large and heavy, so dimensional shipping charges will apply. I will always use whichever shipping method works best for you.
