The QI Annual F MMIX

We have written some instructions on how to request a total for multiple purchases:

As a normal seller (rather than a big company which can negotiate deals with the Royal Mail) selling individual books on eBay is not something which will pull in the big bucks.

We have some books to sell, there's no sensible grouping so we're selling them individually at a very low price (70-80p is the cheapest that we could go without making a loss on an individual book but eBay's minimum selling price for Buy It Now is 99p). Postage is extra so that if you wish to buy a number of books then we can combine postage as efficiently as possible. We still have to work within the limitations of the Royal Mail but we'll do what we can to keep the postage low. The cheapest postage we've found for a single book is Royal Mail Small Parcel (currently at 3.19. online price). If the book happens to be really thin then maybe it could go as a Large Letter but this is quite rare, and then the price depends on the weight.

We'll only make a small profit (normally 18p), even if they sell whilst eBay have one of their cheap fees offers in place (50-60p profit).

Why are we bothering? We don't want to throw away books and hope that others could enjoy them on a budget. And, more selfishly, it helps our seller stats.

Any books that don't sell after a sensible period will be given to charity.

Our Book Rating System

It's based on the standard ones but with a bit more detail

As New/Fine:
The book is in the same immaculate condition (or very close to) as when it was published. This could be the description for a book that has been bought new, read once and kept for years or sold immediately. There are no defects to the book, spine, jacket or pages.
Very Good (VG):
Describes a book that shows some small signs of wear. The spine may show signs of creases but nothing serious. There may be slight marks to the cover and corners due to shelf-wear and reading. Any defects should be noted.
Good (G):
Describes the average used worn book that has all pages or leaves present. There could be significant spine creases, some dog-earing, shelf-wear and cover creases. Any defects should be noted.
Fair:
A worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates), significant spine creasing, cover creasing, dog-earing, shelf-wear and maybe writing inside or highlighted or underlined text. All defects should be noted.
