The first Mortar and Pestle C 1850 measures approximately 6” diam top, 8” high. Pestle: 10”. Purchased at a local estate sale in Bangor, Maine. This early mortar and pestle retains a worn red painted surface. Age cracks as shown. Very solid piece of heavy wood. Nice opportunity to buy an original pair with great surface and wear.

The second one also from the estate has retained even more red paint including the bottom. One side has a worn surface edge that I have shown and likely from use put possibly the way the wood came as it has all the wear marks and patina of its age. Measures approximately 6” diam. and 6” high. Pestle: 10”. I’m not sure if the pestle belongs to the first one or this second one so I’ve taken pictures and video of both way and looks absolutely beautiful even if you interchange them.

The third one is in great blue paint and lighter in weight than the other two. Also from Maine, the mortar measures approx 5 3/4 high and 3 3/4 top diam. Pestle measures approx 7 1/4. This mortar has a small letter “v” in black that I have not attempted to remove as I worried about damaging the paint, so I face it the other way.

I do not profit, nor do I determine the price of shipping as they are based on size and weight by the carrier. These are very solid/heavy Antique items. Check out my feedback. See all photos and video as they are part of the description. All questions are welcome. Sales are final. Please see our other listings for more great items for sale and thank you.
