The fine item you are considering is an Antique Coloma Placerville California Western Autograph Book 1800’s Henry Mahler. This amazing bit of early California history is an autograph book kept by one Mamie McBride, who resided in Coloma, California back in the late 1800’s. The book measures 8” by 5 ½”, has Mamie’s photo and autograph on the first page, dated 1885. The book is filled with autographs, with many from early Coloma residents as well as Placerville residents, and early residents of Lotus, Grizzly Flat & Sacramento City. There’s a long, well written entry by Henry Mahler, who was a pioneer in Coloma and had a large fruit orchard. There’s still a historical plaque in Coloma dedicated to Mr. Mahler. Mamie eventually married Henry’s son, Henry Jr.. Please see my photos to have a look at this amazing bit of early California history. Winning bidder/buyer pays $14.00 shipping and insurance in the contiguous U.S., plus $.50 for packing materials (bubble wrap) with shipping to Alaska and Hawaii most likely costing more.
