"Let
Bygones Be Back"
Antique pamphlet from 1922, Theatre
Program and News, published by the Dittman Theatres, listing all the silent
motion pictures playing on screens in Freeport, Illinois.
It includes ads
for the movies, with graphics depicting the stars, synopses and the
theatres, dates and times they’re playing.
The rest of the
program is devoted to wonderful ads for local retail products and
services offered in downtown Freeport and a diagram of one theater – with
seating for over 1,000 patrons – and its exit plan.
There’s also a
score of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” which apparently could be
sung in the Lindo Theatre to the accompaniment of the organ of “the
latest type, built especially for the modern, artistic theaters” and
played by organist Laverne Peterson.
19 pgs.
Program measures
6 1/8” x 9”.
COMBINED SHIPPING: Combined shipping is available on
purchases of multiple items upon request, when possible. That means that
if an order contains at least one item with a shipping charge, although
other items in the order are listed with free shipping, there will be a
charge – the lowest possible given the combined items.
CONDITION ASSESSMENT: Any condition assigned to listed items
is based on my amateur, albeit conservative, opinion, so please examine
available images closely.
MULTIPLE-COPY LISTINGS: On listings where multiple copies of the
same item are listed, labels associated with a color such as “Item
Name-Yellow” or “Item Name-Purple” refer only
to the color of the background used for identification purposes.
Take care to note whether this auction is one in which
multiple copies of the same or similar items are being sold individually,
and that the price listed is for one of the items rather than all the
items which might appear in a group photo.
SMOKE-FREE INVENTORY: All items are stored in a smoke-free
environment.
