**WARNING — KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN**
* Swallowing may lead to serious injury in as little as 2 hours or death, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.
* Never allow children to replace button batteries of any device.
* If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button battery immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 (Australia) or 0800 764 766 (New Zealand) for fast, expert advice.
* Regularly examine devices and make sure the battery compartment is correctly secured, e.g. that the screw or other mechanical fastener is tightened. Do not use if the compartment is not secure.
* Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely out of reach of children. A "flat" battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device.
* Tell others about the risk associated with button batteries and how to keep their children safe.

Author Biography

Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own for Usborne. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.As a child, Rosalinde could not decide whether she wanted to be a wildlife biologist, a writer or an illustrator. But, because she spent most of her time doodling (even all over her notebooks during class!) or creating plays and sets for her puppets, she finally decided to study art after high school. She joined the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Since her graduation, Rosalinde has written and/or illustrated numerous books. When she isn't working or reading in her studio, she likes hiking, observing nature, taking photos, and making vegan pastries. You can visit her at Mackinnon has lived in England, Scotland, France, Italy and Spain, and worked as a teacher, translator and tour manager before joining Usborne. Over the years she has written and edited Usborne books in sixteen languages, from Arabic to Welsh. She lives in a house full of teenagers, books and curious musical instruments.
