This is a lovely Native American boot Whimsey.  These lovely items were made in the North Easter part of the United States during the  Victorian to 1920s as souvenirs in places like Niagara Falls and souvenir shops.  They were made by Iroquois, Mohawk, Seneca, Oneida and Tuscarora peoples. Every tribe had their own style of beadwork, and unfortunately, I do not know what one made this fabulous boot. At one time it was absolutely gorgeous, but time has not been overly kind to it.  It is made of brown velvet, but the vast majority of the velvet nap has worn off and there are many splits in the fabric. The back is a lovely blue polished cotton. Happily, the fabulous beadwork, in the forms of a bird and flower with leaves, that these items are known for is still in great shape. At the opening of the boot at the top, there are what appears to be pin holes, which would leave me to believe this was a pin cushion. At the back there are many holes along the edge as this boot was once mounted onto a frame. This would make a lovely start for a new collector or another addition to a seasoned collector.

Please see all photos for condition and flaws.

Hello there! I thought I would share a little bit about who you are buying this item from. My name is Gina and for the past 40 years, I have been an avid collector of antiques. At one point in time, my dream was to have a fabulous fashion museum that housed clothing, underwear, shoes, accessories and various items from the 1830s to the 1930s. Well, over time, that dream became a very unhealthy obsession so I am selling the vast majority of my museum off. My obedience to God is your gain! For most of last year I sold quite a bit of the museum on my Instagram page @thehouseofwhyte and that was fun, but a little too regimented for me and caused quite a bit of stress and anxiety. I am hoping that eBay is a better place to offer my items to new homes! I also sell newly crafted items on Etsy at theHOWboutique, if you would like to check out my integrity as a seller there!

Happy Shopping,

Gina
