This lot is from the collection of a former law professor at Indiana University and Temple University, now retired to South Florida. His passion for illustration as an art form began in the early 1970’s and includes genres from fashion design to erotica to cartoons. Amassed over the span of fifty years and acquired from diverse sources, the collection is united by the theme of conveying vibrant beauty and emotion with simplicity in form. Lagerfeld’s drawings in particular resonated with him for their evocative simplicity in the way the fashion designer was able to convey elegance, feeling and motion with few lines.
