It goes without saying in view of the almost obsessive pride that I take in my offerings here on eBay that the fully signed “Omega, Automatic, Chronometer, Officially Certified, Seamaster, T SWISS MADE T” champagne dial on this watch is completely original and has instant visual impact. At least 40% of the value of any collectible vintage wristwatch is derived from the originality and condition of its dial, but all too often this is a point overlooked by inexperienced online buyers. The dial on this watch is totally original and has not been restored. In the eyes of the experienced collector, restored dials are very much the kiss of death and should be avoided at all costs. This champagne dial is in excellent condition and consequently highly desirable, and the knowledgeable enthusiast will never find a better example for investment. This rare original champagne dial retains its stunning applied gold faceted indexes hour markers and luminous baton hands (indicated by "T" in "T SWISS MADE T").

The superb Omega Calibre 751 movement, entirely original to this watch really marks the Seamasters having a distinct personality of its own. The movement in this particular watch is in mint condition and is fully signed “Omega Watch Co. Swiss, ADJUSTED FIVE (5) POSITIONS AND TEMPERATURE, TWENTY-FOUR 24 JEWELS" together with the serial number 31237999, clearly indicating the piece to be of 1969 manufacture. These movements had a well-deserved reputation for accuracy and extreme reliability.This particular watch has been regularly serviced and is in perfect running order. The delivery period for all Omega Golden Seamaster Day Date Models was 1967-1977. 

The gold capped over stainless steel 36.5mm watch case with thick lugs is in excellent condition. Note that the case finish is absolutely exquisite. This 168.023 features a brush finish, press-on bezel. The famous 'seahorse' emblem is deeply embedded into the thick solid steel case-back.

Internally, the screw-down case back is fully signed “Omega Watch Co, Fab. Suisse, Swiss Made FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE" (this being the French term for stainless steel)” together with the model reference 166 032, 168 023 . On the outside, the case back is decorated with the large Seamaster Seahorse emblem, this being first used by Omega in the late 1950s and still a feature of the current Seamaster range.  Exactly as it should be on an example of this model, this decoration remains crisp and is in excellent condition.

To compliment the beauty of the watch, a black leather strap has been fitted with a gold plated Omega buckle. Overall, this is a rare, high quality, and very collectible vintage gentleman’s Golden Omega Seamaster Chronometer. These Omega Golden Seamaster's are becoming very difficult to find now and when they do surface, they seem to be immediately snapped up by eager collectors, particularly when sourced in this remarkable condition. The combination of the case style, original champagne dial and Omega rotor automatic Calibre 751 movement would certainly ensure that this piece would take pride of place in any serious classic Omega watch collection. This Seamaster chronometer is eminently collectable and whose auction value-$ will continue to appreciate steeply as it has already due primarily to their rarity of numbers, unique, high quality design and size.
