The British Soldier from D-Day to VE Day by Jean Bouchery.

Soft cover with over 224 pages with around 200 black and white archive photos and over 200 photos in colour. This book does what it says on the cover and covers the, The British Soldier from D-Day to VE Day. With many photos showing the equipment, uniforms, armour, battle dress etc that the British Soldier used in during the Normandy landings and beyond. (Note! This is a reprint of the British Soldier in Europe V1 and V2 Published back in 1999. They have reprinted it in soft cover and put the two together!) A must have for those into Uniforms etc in Normandy and much more, with excellent archive photos. The purpose of this book is to collect, in an easily readable form, the basic technical data that concern the British army as engaged in the North-West European campaign between 6th June 1944 and 8th May 1845. The author's aim has been to include as much information as possible, without making any claim to exhaustivity, along clear and simple guidelines. Special emphasis has been given to the organization of units, a key element in the correct understanding of other chapters. Those readers who have an interest in contemporary history will then have within their easy reach a reference to data which if frequently referred to, are rarely made explicit in historical works, to which The British Tommy brings but a compliment. Even though this book is not meant for their sole use, the collectors, reenactment groups, modelers or simple military enthusiasts should find here basic documents in the form of articles, which many will probably have read already, summarized from Militaria Magazine , a specialized French publication of International renown. If this handbook - as it is to be considered - should find even a modest place in the impressive bibliography dedicated to the armies which fought on the same front, in the same period but, it is true, on a different scale, then this long and patient research will be fully justified.

Hi First of all, many thanks for the looking.
Discount on postage! Sorry there isn't any - read on.
1) Postal charges go on weight, 'Not how many books are in one box etc' (and books are heavy) And it doesn't matter where in the world you are, France, USA, Australia etc. The prices are the same
2) If you didn't know All postal chargers around the World went up by around 30% in August 2020, due to Covid etc.
And have gone up again 1st Jan 2024, and there isn't anything we can do about it, its all down to them.(And have gone up again in Jan 2024)
3) Due to Brexit, on 1st Jan 2021, Vat is going to be added to overseas postal services and export tax (even though books are Vat free here in the UK, this is going to change?)
4) After the 1st Jan, you will also have to pay a tax on receiving anything from the UK (Although We are hoping, by adding a customs for 'lowering the value of books sent', by saying they are worth £20? so you may get away with this?)
If I am honest, Covid and Brexit, are really 'Messing' things up over here (and the rest of the world to)
Hand on Heart, I am now thinking of removing all overseas services from my sales. This will hurt our book sales, but the hassel's it is looking like its going to be, it is just not worth selling overseas anymore? Although we shall wait and see?
So sorry, but right now, we can offer any discount, as due to the above, so please DO NOT ask, as our prices are fixed and have been calulated on Royal Mail International 'Signed For' posting
And before you ask, we will not send them anyother way (Not surface, or any other Postal Company etc)
And also, after ebay/paypal fees etc, it just isn't worth it on our part, we just end up losing out.
And we price our books up at a good price, so there is no more room for any discount
So our prices are firm and fixed, and as advertised. So please do not complain to us about our p&p, we don't set these prices, All Postal services do.
Again thanks for looking
