A pair of C P Goerz 12X Treider Binocle binoculars.

The number on the top (see last picture) is 14707, this suggests a date of 1893.

They have a magnification of X12.

The binoculars have Nagretti & Zambra London stamped into the right hand base, they were an Optical instrument maker and mathematical instrument maker in London 1850 - 1980. They may have made the lenses for these binoculars.

The top wheel works well to focus, the central thumb wheel is stiff but still works, the main parts are covered in leather and are nice to handle. There is an original strap and box. The box has age and wear and tear but is in sound condition, this has no strap and has been sewn on the front and back.

It has a nice blue velvet inside with moulding for the binoculars.

There is a chip on the left at the top of the eye piece (see photo).

Height 14cm
