BEETHOVEN: COMPLETE SYMPHONIES - LIVE IN TOKYO 1977

HERBERT VON KARAJAN

1977 Tokyo Live / 5  Blu-ray Audio Disc BOX SET

🤗

New mastering for Blu-ray Audio! The sound quality is finished in a way that can be said to be the final conclusion on the digital disc of the same recording.
This disc is available in 2-channel stereo and is available in two types: "24Bit/96kHz" and "24Bit/192kHz". In particular, the comfortable sense of sound spread that can be heard at 192 kHz is truly a wonderful finish.
The performance is the complete Beethoven symphonies recorded in 1977 in Tokyo, which is said to be the height of Karajan's now-legendary career, and the only surviving official live recordings left by Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic. Above all, it goes without saying that the performance of this Zikuls and the famous symphony was magnificent, but I was once again surprised by the terrifying performance of No. 2 on the 14th, which was filled with great enthusiasm and power, as it was the program that was featured at the end of the concert. You can see the true professional spirit of Karajan and the Berliner Philharmoniker, who do not skimp on any piece.

[Stereo recording by TOKYO FM]
This Beethoven chicles was recorded in its entirety by "FM Tokyo (now TOKYO FM)". Moreover, for the recording, Mr. Minoru Tojo, a famous producer of FM Tokyo at the time and is now well known as a music critic, and Mr. Shunsuke Wakabayashi, a famous engineer in Japan who was also praised by Stokowski, were mobilized to take all possible measures. Very good stereo recording. In addition, "Fate" and "Countryside", which were performed only by regular members of the Berlin Philharmonic without extras, were not broadcast on FM because Asahi Broadcasting System broadcast them in monaural on TV, and the stereo recording was not released until its release in September 2010.
By the way, the timpani are played by Therichen in the 2nd, 4th, 8th and 7th, and the rest are played by Vogler. Karajan and Therichen's records are few and precious. In addition, Schwalbe was in charge of Nos. 1 and 3, and Spieler and Brandis were the rest. And the choir led by Nobuaki Tanaka, whom Karajan highly praised, developed a chorus of ridiculous voltage that is far from Japan in the ninth. (Source: King International)
