Piano Compositions by Women. Althea put in 16 years as Founder & Artistic Director of Northern Lights Junior Theatre in Juneau, Alaska. J. Althea is a pianist from Alaska who began her professional career at age 16. Since then she has also worked as a theatre director, music director, and piano teacher. She played ragtime and early jazz (1920’s), boogie-woogie, and jazz standard.
