Coin was issued to commemorate 200 years of the publication of Matthew Flinders journal
"A Voyage to Terra Australis".
In this journal he noted that "New Holland" and "New South Wales" are in fact one landmass.
The reverse design depicts a partial map of Australia and a stylised tall ship in full sail within a compass rose.
