A interesting Dutch or Flemish old master oil on oak panel from the golden age. The piece depicts two figures, one standing, the other reclining under a tree with a horse and dog at their side.

The painting measures 12 x 9 inches, the size of the bevels on the reverse of the panel indicate that the right side was cut down by about 1/2 inch at some point in the past, no doubt to make it fit a frame. The painting is quite old and over the centuries has had some work done to it, the surface shows some losses, craquelure and little scattered touch ups and flaking. Overall it seems stable and still looks quite good.
