Artist: The Groundhogs
Format: Groundhogs SIGNED 12"album - A copy of ‘Groundhogs
Solid’ signed to the sleeve front panel by the full band. ‘Solid’ is a 1974 album recorded
by the Groundhogs, originally released by WWA Records. It was arranged,
composed, engineered, and produced by band member Tony McPhee. It entered the
UK album charts in July 1974 reaching number 31 but remained in the charts for
only one week.
Band members:
Tony McPhee (guitars, vocals): Tony has signed the
textured WWA sleeve by his image on the right-hand side in dark blue biro-style
pen.
Peter Cruikshank (bass): Pete has signed the
textured WWA sleeve by his image on the left-hand side with a medium blue biro-style
pen and underlined his signature.
Clive Brooks (drums): has signed the textured WWA
above the central image with a medium blue biro-style pen.
The signatures are simply stunning of the classic
era band from circa 1974! I am grading the signatures for Tony and Clive’s as
8/10 with no evidence of fading and look amazing framed! I am grading Pete’s as
7/10 as he has used a much finer biro-style pen and therefore has a slightly
reduced ‘definition’.
This has then been mounted, and beautifully framed
and glazed with a frame and mount that really highlights the colours in the
album sleeve. This has just come back from my framers so assume the frame and
hangings are in ‘like new’ condition.
