PITCHER No 5 Cobalt and Grey Salt Glazed Pottery, embossed with Tavern Scene
Maker may be Whites Utica, but there is no maker's mark other than "5" imprinted on the bottom.
Antique late 1800's (based on ownership provenance)
Dimensions: 9 1/2" tall, 4" dia opening at the top, 5 5/8" dia at the bottom. Overall width 8 1/2" from handle to spout.

Condition is very good for its age. The spout has one chip on the outside and a hairline glazing crack on the interior. In the folds of the seated lady's skirt is a line that appears to be a potter's error before firing because it appears that the glaze covers it. The line does not go through to the interior of the pitcher. Please look at photos carefully and contact me if you have any questions.
