The mala is the Buddhist rosary, faithful companion of the practitioner who often holds it in his hand, wrapped around his wrist or around his neck like a necklace. The word mala means in Sanskrit “necklace of flowers” or “garland of pearls”. It is a rosary grouping 108 pearls which can symbolize according to the country: -the 108 ordeals that the Buddha underwent to achieve enlightenment and the 108 names of the Buddha
