the items. However, due to differences in monitors, the items may not be a
perfect match to the item as displayed on your device. We have also provided
detailed descriptions of the colors as a further guide.
A note
on the term “pocket square.” We use the term very generously. More
discriminating menswear aficionados might cringe at the sight of the things we
shove into the breast pockets of our sport coats and blazers. Literally, any
small cloth that fits (roughly 10x10 to 18x18) and provides the right pop of
color goes in the pocket; and that includes everything from Japanese children’s
handkerchiefs featuring the likes of Ultra Man to vintage ladies’ handkerchiefs
complete with scalloped edges (we love those!). However, as a rule, we only
wear this sort of nontraditional pocket square casually – never with a suit.
When dressed more formally wearing a suit and tie, we typically prefer a crisp white
handkerchief and a classic presidential fold.
But
that’s just us, you do you; we’ve never been strict fashion rule-followers or
gatekeepers here at Ancient Ivy.
