Publisher Description

Originally published in 1935, as the second edition of a 1919 original, this detailed and informative textbook consists of a broad and expansive collection of examples which have been taken from papers set for the courses of lectures at the Cambridge Engineering Laboratory and from the A and B papers of the Engineering Tripos. This second edition has been enlarged and revised, and the questions, papers I to XL, have been arranged under headings indicating the various parts of the subject. In papers XLI to L, the questions are varied and of a general character, catering for beginners in the subject as well as more advanced students. Notably, answers to all of the set questions can be found at the back.
