The drive mode switch for the 2021 and 2022 Yamaha RMAX 1000 allows you to quickly switch between SPORT, TRAIL, and CRAWL modes on your RMAX 1000. All models of the RMAX (Base, R-Spec, XTR, Sport, and LE) are pre-wired for this switch so there is no wiring modifications needed. Completely plug and play!
Installation takes about 15 minutes.
This allows you to add 12V accessories to the existing key activated accessory plugs on your vehicle.
No harness modifications required

Installation Instructions:
1.Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
2.Remove the hood to gain access to the firewall panel that your speed management key is installed on.
3.Remove that firewall panel by removing the 9 bolts that secure it (5 along the top and 4 along the bottom).
4.On the dashboard, there are pre-cut, rectangular switch holes. Choose the location you want to install the switch and remove the rubber plug.
5.Insert the D-Mode switch connectors in first, push the wires through, and then push your switch into the hole until it snaps into place.
6.Locate the bundle of connectors behind the dash, near the steering column.
7.Locate the 4-pin connector that only has 3 wires going in to it (black, white/yellow, and blue/white). It should have blue tape on it. Remove the plug from it and connect the D-Mode switch 4-pin connector to it.
8.Locate one of the 2-pin accessory power connectors. There are several of them. Remove the plug from one of them and connect the D-Mode switch 2-pin connector to it.
9.Turn the ignition key to the ON position and verify that the switch is successfully changing the drive modes.
10.Reassemble the firewall and install the hood.
