A vintage ethnic necklace made by the Bedouin or Yemenite people of Northern Africa or Middle East.  As these people were traders their designs and construction techniques spread across several regions.
This fine statement piece necklace symbolises the art of carpet making - the upper round roll represents the finished rolled carpet - while the central chains suggest a weaving loom with the pattern starting to form on the lower panel.
The metal is not marked but is probably low grade silver - or silver plated.
I hope you can see from my photos how much work has gone into producing this charming piece.  I love the little bobble shapes at the base - each one is different, some have solid ends, some open ends and each one with an irregular shape.
The necklace is presented on a fine silver coloured metal chain - you could add a more sturdy chain if you prefer.
Measures Pendant from top of the roll to lower dangles 7 inches, width of roll top 6 1/2 inches.  Length of chain end to end 22 1/2 inches.
In good condition no damage.  No broken links, or missing links.
