Up for sale is a Vintage “Galaxy Science Fiction” Pulp Magazine! This is the rare August 1955 issue, Volume 10 Number 5. This issue features The Flat-Eyed Monster by William Tenn, Whiskaboom by Alan Arkin (the first published work by this well-known actor), Country Estate by Daniel F. Galouye, A Gift from Earth by Manly Banister, Twink by Theodore Sturgeon, and Preferred Risk (Part 3 of 4) by Lester del Rey and Frederik Pohl (as by Edson McCann). They are all the original first printings of these classic science fiction stories in any publication. This 144-page pulp magazine was published by the Galaxy Publishing Corporation and measures about 7½” x 5½”. The magazine features a wonderful painted cover by pulp artist Fred Kirberger and illustrations by Bill Ashman, Diehl, Irv Docktor, and Sanford Kossin inside. As shown in the photos, the magazine is in very good condition for its age with some cover wear and light soiling, including some light foxing and a staple hole on the front and a store date stamp on the top edge. The paper is intact along the magazine’s spine, and the magazine is complete and remains well bound. Its interior pages are clean with no writing, creases, rips, or tears. This rare vintage “Galaxy Science Fiction” pulp magazine would make a great addition to your collection!
