Nang Kwak is a goddess or a benevolent spirit. She is widely worshiped and believed to bring good luck and good fortune, especially in the form of money, to the family.

She is the patron deity of all merchants and sellers and can be seen in almost every business establishment in Thailand.
    
Nang Kwak is depicted as a beautiful woman wearing a traditional Thai dress and a golden crown on her head, posed in a sitting or kneeling position. Her right hand is raised in the Thai way to attract a customer with the palm of the hand pointing down. His left hand rests on the side or holds a bag full of gold in his lap.
On this amulet, she is represented with her hands near her bags filled with gold. It is an unusual representation.
    
The current iconographic figure of Nang Kwak evolved from the ancient goddess Siamese Rice Mae Po Sop. The two goddesses are related to the Hindu deity Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and abundance.
