AN unusual and fun way to provide a retro/vintage paper doll set to the kiddies or collectors. This is an oversized postcard with Little Red, the Wolf and Grand-MaMa being cut-out figures. The story is printed in very small print in the lower left. The post card is 5 1/2 x 7, with Grand-MaMa being about 3 1/2 inches. On the reverse is the explanantion that the DOLLY DINGLE Paper DOll Series was first published in a magazine in 1913. The artist, Grace Drayton is best remembered for her original Campbell Kid character.
If you truly wanted to use these as paper dolls, I would copy and print to 91/2 x 11 on plain paper. But the postcard can also be framed for a nursery or child's room decoration. I'm guessing at the date of 1980 because of the dates of other items this was with. The 35 cent indication on the reverse, is probably what a postcard stamp would have cost (so if you're super interested in knowing the publication or original sale date....google the postage charge!)
