Nice ORIGINAL Cabinet Card with Scalloped Edge, JAMES JAMIESON, 7th Regiment, Artillery Battery 'B'. A young soldier, probably 20 years old or so.
The photograph was produced in-studio by SPEAKER's, of Paterson, NJ.
The insignia on the kepi probably refer to either the 7th New York or 7th New Jersey regiments. This was not a camp-produced CDV or tintype but a formal studio portrait.
This Cabinet Card has a fancy scalloped edge, measures about 6-1/2" by 4-1/8", and shows the soldier in the typically ill-fitting uniform jacket of the time. In this case, it appears slightly too tight/small.
'JAMES JAMIESON' is written on the reverse in pencil. I'm guessing James was the young soldier depicted here.
