Description
Kangxi in all it's delight
Chinese blue and white European market plate, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in the centre with a monogram above a laurel wreath and a love knot above, the border with a garland of fruiting passion flower, the reverse with two floral sprays to the rim and a central artemisia leaf within concentric circles
Dimensions:
Diameter: 27.1cm. (10 11/16in.)
Whilst it is not known who commissioned this pattern, Jochem Kroes suggests that the plate may have been ordered by a married female due to the predominance of female imagery. For further information see Kroes, Jochem, 'Chinese Armorial Porcelain for the Dutch Market', p. 106, pl. 3

Condition
The dish was in half, which is beautifully restored. Bad thing it was fully repainted at the back, we removed most part but some areas of repainting still visible. Size 27.2x3.4CM DiameterxHeight
