I cannot guarantee the holding charge on the battery. I know when plugged in to charge the battery, the camcorder works, and the charging light comes on (flashing red light). 

I have not charged for more than an hour.  At that point the battery will not power the camcorder unless it is plugged back in. 

IF a new battery is needed – I GOOGLED and found they sell for $10 to $20 on average. (See photo with GOOGLE results)
